Welcome! I'm Kimberly Burke, LICSW,
adult, adolescent, and child therapist.
You can call me Kim. I use she/her pronouns.
I am trained in many therapies for adults, adolescents, and children, but did you know research has found that the most important factor in the success of therapy is how well the therapist and client “click”? To help you determine if I might be the right therapist for you, here’s a bit about my style:
I believe you need to feel safe.
I’m calm, gentle, and compassionate. I’m trustworthy to hold your communication in the strictest of confidence and to not judge you or boss you around.
I believe you need to be heard.
I listen deeply with curiosity and acceptance and never with criticism or blame. I reflect what has been said and what
has been unsaid. I ask questions to investigate obstacles getting in your way.
I believe that life works well when you know how to manage your emotions, communicate your needs, and heal the wounds that keep you stuck.
I offer skills for coping and communication. I use talk therapy and body-based interventions to heal trauma. I
champion treating yourself with compassion and care.
I enjoy working with both adults and children and those in between. While my experience and training have prepared me to help with many issues, I have a special interest in working with non-binary and transgender individuals, people who have suffered trauma, and those wanting to overcome their anxiety and build emotion regulation skills.
It’s difficult to know if we are a good fit without meeting. So, please set up your free 15-minute consultation.
